Claudia Acuña
Sunday, July 1, 2007 1:00 PM
Hailed by the LA Times as an "instrument of wonder", Chilean
singer/songwriter/arranger Claudia Acuña draws upon the culture
of her homeland by fusing Latin rhythms with her instinctive jazz
sensibilities. Singing mostly in her mother tongue, Acuña makes it clear
that music crosses all barriers - particularly when sung with her
distinctive brand of authentic emotion.
She will be joined by guitar virtuoso Ron
Affif, whose unique style has been influenced by Joe Pass,
Wes Montgomery and Barney Kessel.
Gretchen Parlato
Sunday, July 8, 2007 6:00 PM
"The first thing you notice about Gretchen Parlato is that she's a
singer with a deep, almost magical connection to the music," says jazz
legend Herbie Hancock. " Every note is expressive, powerful, and pretty.
And most important, her heart is in the right place." Gretchen's petite
bearing and vocal enchantments evoked another famed spell-casting pixie
for one reviewer, who called Gretchen's 2003 performance with Herbie in
Paris "a fairy-tale like show. . . in the universe of Björk."
Joining Ms. Parlato will be Mike Moreno,
whom the Village Voice called “A Guitarist of commanding technique and
almost architectural expression.”
Frank Vignola
Sunday, July 29, 2007 6:00 PM

today, having recorded alongside Chet Atkins, Madonna, Ringo Starr,
Manhattan Transfer, Elvin Jones, Lionel Hampton, Woody Allen, Bucky
Pizzarelli and other name artists., Frank Vignola is also considered to
be one of the most outstanding virtuosos in the “Django: Gypsy guitar
style.
He will be joined by guitarist/vocalist extraordinaire Don Keiling.
