What is Szechuan Tokyo?
Szechuan Tokyo started as an
Asian-fusion restaurant in 1999. As
popular as ever, additional to the restaurant the company has included in its
operations a vast wholesale sushi group, a catering group, and the
Entertainment
Group, which provides products and consulting services associated with the music
industry to a wide variety of clients. The Entertainment Group also offers
products and services which exploit its vast resources (e.g., production,
information technology, design).
What about the restaurant?
Although the term "Asian-fusion" is used when describing the
restaurant, Szechuan
Tokyo never fuses the cuisine on the plate. Rather, we serve authentic home-style
Sichuan cuisine, banquet-style
delicacies,
sushi and sashimi, and cooked
Japanese specialties. No expense is
spared when creating our dishes with authentic, premium ingredients that are
impeccably fresh.
Home of the
"Jazz Bar;" our wine and liquor operation is eclectic yet complete.
From a
delicate foreign or domestic wine to the infamously "deadly" Scorpion
Bowl, our signature cocktail for two, our beverage service has it all.
Designated driver? Your soda or juice is on us.
Our mission
is to serve great food and huge beverages at a value price; our variety empowers our
customers to create the experience they desire; whether a quick, informal bite
in the bar or a dress affair for a hundred persons -- "West Hartford's Asian
Fusion Experience™" is here every day of the year (but for Thanksgiving) to
serve luncheon and dinner in a unique, eclectic setting.
What's this about live Jazz?
Szechuan Tokyo has been recognized in the press as the
ultimate
spot for jazz in a supper-club setting in the state of Connecticut. Every
Thursday and Friday evening, and Sunday from 6:00 to 9:00, we transform the main
dining room of the restaurant into a genuine New York-style supper club and
present some of the finest names working club jazz these days; without a cover
charge (there's a $10 minimum purchase required, but hey, we gotta pay the
talent something. Oh, and there's a little thing called rent. But we digress...)
ABOUT SERVICE: Speed of
service has been an issue mentioned by some of our customers and in some
on-line reviews by subscribers to websites which list restaurants and
entertainment. The service issue is related to the
evenings we hold our jazz presentations. Please bear with us,
because on any given evening up to 100 persons can arrive all at once,
and our fleet-footed servers do indeed get a bit overwhelmed. Owner Paul
can be summoned or approached at any time if the wait appears to be
unacceptable. Rest assured that you'll be served swiftly and cheerfully
on every visit, just a little less swiftly, perhaps, if you're here for
one of our popular musical shows.
How do we get there?
We're conveniently located on the corner of South Main Street
and New Britain Avenue in the Elmwood section of West Hartford. Take I-84 East
or Westbound to Exit 41 ("South Main Street/Elmwood"); head south on South Main
Street, and the restaurant's on the far left at the next intersection (New
Britain Avenue). THERE'S PLENTY OF FREE PARKING.
How do we contact you?
Our telephone number is (860) 561-0180. The Address is 1245 New Britain
Avenue, West Hartford, CT 06110. Email
